

Frank A. Farina, 87, of South Windsor, formerly of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Lucy ""Lucee"" (LaPenta) Farina, entered the gates of Heaven to join his loving wife and son, Frank Jr. on Wednesday, (August 10, 2011). He was born June 13, 1924 in Hartford, the son of the late Antonio and Remilia (Valente) Farina. Frank worked for Terry Steam Turbine in Hartford immediately following high school. He then worked at Hamilton Standard and then went on to retire from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation where he was the lead designer of the Black Hawk Helicopter. He loved to travel, was a member of the Sababo Club, enjoyed horse races and the beach. But his greatest joy was his wife and family. Frank is survived by two sons Anthony Farina and his wife Karen of South Windsor, and Robert Farina of Newington; a daughter Sandra Cianci and her husband Paul of South Windsor; and eight beloved grandchildren: Frank A. Farina, III, Calee Farina and Julee Farina, all of Cromwell; Michael Farina and Tiana Farina, both of South Windsor; Jason Cianci of South Windsor and Ryan Cianci and his girlfriend Jessica of South Windsor; and Rachel Farina of Newington. Frank's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at South Windsor Rehab for their care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 13th at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will be private.
