

Frederick “Fred” Buell Gibson, Jr., 70, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Deborah Ann (Roy) Gibson, passed away on Thursday (November 10, 2016) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on January 3, 1946, he was the son of the late Frederick Buell Gibson, Sr. and Esther (Donohue) Gibson. Fred grew up in Wethersfield and served as a police officer in town for two years in the late 1960s. He retired from the State of CT after 33 years, where he worked as a correctional officer, as director of central payroll and as a financial manager for the DOT. He was a 30 year member of the Wethersfield Game Club, as well as a member of the South Kingstown Elks for nine years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed reading, boating, camping in Rhode Island and living in Florida. In addition to his wife, Fred will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law, Jane Roy; brothers-in-law, Sam Franzo and Scott Roy and wife Renata; his niece, Laura Pawlich and husband Mark and his great-niece and great-nephew, Julia and Jack Pawlich; niece, Jennifer Johnson; nephews, Matt Johnson, Richard Roy, Michael Roy, Michael Franzo and wife Erin and Johnathon Franzo. He was sadly predeceased by his beloved son, Thomas Gibson and two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Janet Franzo.
