Halyn Victoria Murtha, of Wethersfield, had her spirit freed on Saturday, May 25, 2019. She was the beloved daughter of Chris and Tory (Munro) Murtha. Halyn was born in Hartford on July 16, 2009. She attended the Gengras Center School in West Hartford. Halyn was a beautiful and friendly girl who would brighten up everyone’s day with a simple, “Hi!”, “Rock On!”, and “I love you!”, no matter if it was the first or 100th time she met you. Our little princess was the center of our lives and will live in our hearts forever. Halyn enjoyed playing with her brothers, her dog Moxy, her musical toys, watching videos, dancing, playing with bubbles, and singing. Halyn faced her challenges with epilepsy and autism with courage and strength, and taught everyone about genuine love, compassion and forgiveness. While our hearts are forever broken, we take some solace in knowing her spirit is finally free. Besides her parents, Halyn is survived by her two brothers, Gavin and Dylan Murtha who loved her immensely and were her best friends. In addition, she was loved by her grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, and she loved them all back.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 - 6:30 p.m. on Thursday (May 30) at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A celebration of her life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the conclusion of calling hours in the funeral chapel. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
