James J. Amenta, 70, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 18, 2023. A lifelong resident of the Hartford area, James was born into the loving arms of his late parents, Jim and Anne Amenta, September 1, 1953.
James held a long career as a renowned hair stylist, known for his unparalleled skill and creativity. His career allowed him to touch the lives of people across the country with his artistic vision and genuine passion for beauty. He was a brother, a father, and a friend to many. James was passionate about his Catholic faith, impacting many community members with his time as a CCD educator at Saint Mary’s Church in Newington.
Honoring James and remembering his love are his daughter, Nicole Amenta; son, James Amenta (Ashleigh Lovelace); grandson, Henryk Lovelace Amenta; sister, Marylou Amenta (Stacey Trichka); and nephew, Isaac Trichka.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 23 from 9-10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford.
