
James P. Corona, 71 of Rocky Hill, loving husband of Dina Corona for 51 years, died, Friday (January 28, 2011). He was born in Rocky Hill and was the son of the late James and Laura (Tolli)Corona. He attended local schools and proudly served in the US Army. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Rocky Hill. He spent many years involved in youth sports and enjoying time with Rocky Hill residents during special events; from Santa to the Easter Bunny Pancake Breakfast and cooking at the Senior Center. He truly enjoyed his involvement with Parks & Rec and special friendships he developed. He worked many years for the Dexter Corp. Then again, enjoying Rocky Hill youth, cooking and serving meals for the students of West Hill Elementary School and Rocky Hill High School. The children always made him smile and laugh. He was a proud Rocky Hill resident. Jim also made fond memories during his summers spent at the beach in Westbrook. He will always be heard routing for the New York Yankees and cheering for the UCONN Women's Basketball Team. His smile will be felt and his singing will be heard for many years to come. Besides his wife Dina, he is survived by three loving daughters, Sonia, Verna and Pia, his granddaughter the sparkle of his eye, Tina and his newest pride and joy, great grandson, Brandon. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Funeral Service will be Tuesday (February 1) at 8:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim's memory may be made to Cora J.
