Jeanette South

Jeanette South, 34, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Born on August 5, 1988, she was the loving daughter of Colin Knowles and Luz (Mejia) Knowles. Raised in Windsor, CT, Jeanette graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in history and secondary education, and received her Masters degree in curriculum and instruction from St. Joseph University. She worked for over 12 years teaching 5th grade at Saint Gabriel School and 7th grade at Suffield Middle School. Jeanette was strong willed and smart, and never backed down from a challenge. She was loving and caring to everyone in her circle, and was the kind of person to lift up her friends around her. She loved reading true crime and history, traveling, and the New England Patriots, but above all she loved being a mom to her son, Joey, 15 months. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Alex South, son, Joseph South, parents Colin and Luz Knowles, brother Michael and his wife Julia, niece Brooke and nephew Kieran, in-laws Roy and Veronica South, brother-in law Zach South, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues. She will be dearly missed by all.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 371 Wolcott Hill Road, Wethersfield, CT 06109, (860)-529-5397.
