

Joan M. Enos, 82, passed away on Sunday, (June 5, 2011) after a brief hospitalization. She was born on November 5, 1928 in Syracuse, New York. Her parents were Dr. Norman Livshin and Mildred Wilkinson Livshin. Joan was awarded her College Entrance Diploma from the University of the State of New York in 1946 and a degree from Syracuse University in 1950. She was married to William N. Enos on October 9, 1952 in Hartford. For over 25 years Joan was employed by The Travelers Insurance Company in the group life actuarial department, where she supervised 40 workers. In her later years, Joan enjoyed DVD sessions from The Teaching Company (teachingcompany.com) , exploring the great pharaohs of ancient Egypt and the archeology of ancient Rome and Greece (including underwater finds). She lived in Wethersfield for 29 years and is fondly remembered by her next door neighbor, Mary Lou Gates and Mary Bergan, of New Haven, who worked with Joan at The Travelers. She received outstanding care from Glastonbury Health Care Center, and will be particularly missed by her nurse, Brendan. Joan was predeceased by her husband William and is survived by her brother, Peter Livshin of Oneonta, NY.
