John Piergrossi, 94, of Rocky Hill and formerly Wethersfield, beloved husband for 46 years of the late Concettina (Lisi) Incontro Piergrossi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA on February 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Santo and Theresa Piergrossi. John worked for The Hartford for many years. He loved Italian music. Most of all, he loved family dinners when all the children were gathered together. That was his greatest joy.
John will be forever missed by his two stepsons, Aldo Incontro and wife Connie and Francesco Incontro and wife Maria Clara, all of Wethersfield; five adored grandsons, Tonino, Nuccio, Tony, Joseph and John Incontro and four cherished great-grandchildren, Tony, Jr., Michael, Joseph, Jr. and Charlie. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis DeMartino and his niece, Frances Agrawal, as well as many other nieces, nephews and extended family members. We would like to thank Hartford Hospital and Apple Rehab for their wonderful care, and special thanks to Yadi, his helper for being a faithful companion and most of all for your friendship.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 26 from 9-10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish (Church of the Incarnation), 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield.
