Jolanda Rivera, 45, of Hartford, entered God’s care on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Jolanda was born on June 23, 1978 in Lawrence, Massachusetts and was the daughter of Carmen Gladys Maria Feliciano. She enjoyed doing her own manicures and nail designs, she loved cooking, taking photos and loved to create memorable photos albums. She enjoyed drawing while listening to her favorite music (dancehall mix was her favorite), coloring and loved spending time with her 17-year-old son Luis (boogz), and spending time with her family. Jolanda loved giving back to the community by volunteering and giving money to the homeless whenever she could, and she loved visiting Elizabeth Park, which was mom’s favorite park.
She will be remembered for her jokes, her dancing just like mom, and her contagious smiles. Jolanda’s message to all is please do not miss routine medical check-ups, and always seek a second opinion!
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her son, Luis D. Rios, Jr.; her siblings, Ana Casablanca (Hector), Julio Rodriguez, Almando Feliciano (Maria), Jose Cruz (Jessica), Carmen Cruz (George), Daisy Rodriguez (Angel) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special personal thanks from Jolanda, Luis and the family: Cousin (Las Primas) Charo and Joanne for everything you have done throughout the years. Tana, you are amazing, an Angel sent from God for all you have done and continue to do for our family, and Yari and Meche- Thank you. To Jolanda’s two best friends, Natalie and Janelise; she loved and adored you both dearly.
Per Jolanda’s request, funeral services will be private. The family of Jolanda Rivera wish to express their appreciation for your kind thoughts and expressions of sympathy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jolanda’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation (Kidney.org) as Jolanda enjoyed volunteering there. The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
