

Joseph A. Agiato, July 2,1937- February 19,2025 of Wethersfield CT., formerly of Brooklyn NY and Lynbrook NY. On June 13, 1959 Joe married the love of his life, Maryann Mauro. In the early years Joe finished his degree at New York University all while working full time and helping Maryann, who was also working, with caring for their 3 children. He was very active in church and community and was a member of the Fathers Club at Our Lady of Peace School in Lynbrook, The BPO of Elks, and The Knights of Columbus. Joe was always available for his children and helped run the athletic program at Our Lady of Peace and the Lynbrook Recreation programs where he coached both his sons in baseball and found time to attend his daughter’s twirling competitions. After leaving Chase Bank where he worked for 27 years, he worked at Mizuho Bank for 5 years. A survivor of both World Trade center attacks he retired fully in 2004. He stayed active with the Knights and joined The Mastreos music group on Long Island with his wife. After moving to Wethersfield CT in 2012, Joe became active in his new community through various activities at Incarnation Church and chapter of the Knights of Columbus where he earned his Fourth Degree. Joseph is survived by his wife of 65 years Maryann, his 3 children Joseph Jr,(Maria nee Gallo), Anthony (Carol nee Kucmarski) and Lisa- Anne (Robert Foster). A devoted grandfather to; Christopher, Andrew, Elizabeth (Joshua Harris), John-Joseph, Anthony and Michael. Loving Great Grand Father to Addison and Elijah Harris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 25th, at 11:00am at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish (St. James) 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Family and friends may call on Monday, February 24th from 5 to 7pm at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
