

Joseph “Joe” P. Carcia, Jr., 82, of Manchester, passed away peacefully surrounding by his loving family on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 and is now happily reunited with his beloved wife of 61 years, Constance L. (Giacco) Carcia, who predeceased him in 2022. Born in Hartford on August 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph P. Carcia, Sr. and Maria (Abate) Carcia. Joe worked for Gerber Garment Technologies for over 20 years, retiring as a supervisor.
He was very active with the Boy Scouts (Troup 27), assisting them with many projects, as well as performing Camp Master duties during his time of involvement with them. He loved fishing, gardening and wine making. His favorite holidays were Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Above all else, Joe loved spending time with his family; they meant the world to him and he loved nothing more than to have the house filled with everyone.
A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Joe will be forever missed by his eight children, Constance Marie Hobart and husband James of Salisbury NC, Suzanne Lynne Kassoy and significant other Gerry of Manchester, Joseph Philip Carcia, III and wife Shirley of Warwick RI, Michael Joseph Carcia of Manchester, Vincent Francis Carcia and wife Cynthia of Manchester, Michelle Denise Potter and husband Daniel of East Hartford, Richard Paul Carcia and wife Jennifer of Groton and Edward Joseph Carcia of Manchester; his adored grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa), Richard (Christa), Joseph, Joshua, Dannielle (significant other Keith), Anthony, Elizabeth (significant other Enrique), Nicole (significant other Pamela), Jessica (James), Anthony, Zachary, Angelique, Alan, Zack and Becky and cherished great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kaydence, Luna, Xavier and Alexander. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Calling hours will be Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 1 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
