Josephine Stumpo

Josephine (Formica) Stumpo, 93, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late Mario Stumpo, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2016. Born in New Britain on November 18, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Virginia (DiPace) Formica. She loved crocheting and enjoyed playing bingo and cooking for her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Josephine will be dearly missed by her son, Eugene Stumpo and his wife Judith of Middletown; her daughter, Roseann Stumpo of Bristol; three adored granddaughters, Pamela, Katy and Michelle and several cherished great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Sebastian Formica and one sister, Mary Tumolo.

Funeral services will be Tuesday (June 28) at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.
