Laura Cherry

Laura Christine (Parente) Cherry, 69, of Wethersfield, wife of Robert Cherry, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Hartford Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born September 24, 1947 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Fiore and Susan (Carraciolo) Parente. She was an employee of Aetna for over 30 years until her retirement. Laura loved music, dancing and had a deep compassion for animals and she will be sorely missed by her family and special dog Roxanne. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her devoted daughter, Suzanne M. Kiniry of Rocky Hill, her two granddaughters, who were the lights of her life, Kaitlin and Kayse Kiniry, her loving sister, Susan Castagna and husband Tony of Coventry, her cherished nieces Christie Filanowski, Gina Alderucci, Lauren Frisbie and Christina Cherest. In additions she leaves her 7 great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Andrew A. Parente. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 12 at 12 noon at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. At the family’s request there will not be any calling hours and the burial will be private.
