

Lawrence S. Hutnick, 77, of Wethersfield, CT, beloved husband of Marie Hutnick, passed away on January 31, 2007. He was born in Hartford, CT. He was a retired teacher and guidance counselor in the Wethersfield School system. After retirement he continued to find joy in teaching tennis. His athletic accomplishments were many and in a number of different sports. This included playing professional baseball, many tennis rankings in New England for doubles, and his latest passion, the game of golf, which he enjoyed most with his daughter Felicia. In 2002 he was inducted into the Hartford Public High School Athletic Hall of Fame. A veteran of the Air Force and a Trinity College graduate, he returned to his alma mater to coach tennis for 2 seasons. During retirement Larry started baking pizza and pies. Many of his friends came to enjoy his famous pizza and apple pies, which he often personally delivered. Larry touched an incredible number of lives; from the children he was a mentor to, to the many students who called him ?Coach.? He loved his family and the people he called friend. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lori; a son, Steven Hutnick; a daughter and son-in-law, Felicia Hutnick and John Kaiser; his sister Pauline Hurlbut and his brother Steve Hutnik. He loved his grandchildren and will be missed by Sarah and Lauren Hutnick, and Alexis, Stephanie and Teresa Kaiser. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St. in Wethersfield on Monday February 5th at 10 a.m. The burial will be private.
