Letizio Iallonardo

Letizio Iallonardo, 68, of Wethersfield beloved husband of Serafina (DeFeo) Iallonardo for 47 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, (March 18, 2006) at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side. He was born February 19, 1938 in Santo Stefano del Sole, province of Avellino, Italy and was the son of the late Alessandro and Italia (DeLuca) Iallonardo. He was a custodian for over 20 years for the Board of Education, Wethersfield School System, retiring in 2004. Letizio enjoyed gardening, landscaping winemaking and traveling, but most of all being with his family. He made many sacrifices in order to provide for his family. He will be sadly missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Alessandro Iallonardo and his wife, Mary of Wethersfield, Antonio S. Iallonardo of Arlington, Virginia and Vito M. Iallonardo of Wethersfield, his loving grandsons who affectionately called him, ""Nonno"", Joseph Alessandro and Matthew Letizio Iallonardo, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raffaele and Lina DeFeo of Newington, Italo ""George"" and Betty DeFeo of Wethersfield, Maria and Dominic DeFeo of Wethersfield and Anna Iallonardo of Italy, and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Carmine Iallonardo and a sister, AngelaMaria Iallonardo. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
