

Lewis E. Wise, 89, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Veronica Ann (Toce) Wise, died Wednesday, (November 2, 2011) at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sandyville, WV, son of the late George and Marie (Conger) Wise, Lewis lived in Hartford after he returned from World War II and in Wethersfield since 1967. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theatre during World War II. Lewis was employed at Royal Typewriter in Hartford and later worked at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks for more than 25 years prior to his retirement in 1987. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and John Pelczar of Rocky Hill; two granddaughters, Dr. Elizabeth Pelczar of New Jersey and Dr. Patricia Rossi and her husband Robert of Maryland and a great-grandson, Adrian. Lewis was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Glen Wise.
Funeral services will be Monday (November 7) beginning at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial with full military honors will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral chapel in Wethersfield.
