

Linda Bauer Havens, 68, formerly of Wethersfield, died Tuesday (February 19, 2008), at Kimberly Hall Nursing Home in Windsor, where she had been a long time resident. She was born March 4, 1939 in Hartford, daughter of the late Walter Kaye Bauer and Helen Seely Bauer, and had lived in Wethersfield most of her life. She graduated from Wethersfield High School and Baypath College, Longmeadow, MA. The Bauer family was well known in the area as musicians forming the Bauer Banjo Band, which was comprised of seventy members. Linda also taught with her parents at their Wethersfield studio. She is survived by two daughters; Heather Richards and her husband Stanton of Carmel, IN and Heidi Cassidy of Wethersfield, a sister, Beverly Briggs and her husband David of Somerset, NJ and her four grandchildren Brittany, Landon, Amelia and Dallin Richards of Carmel, IN and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23 at Kimberly Hall, 1 Emerson Ave, Windsor at 2 p.m. There will not be any calling hours.
