Madlyn Mady DiLorenzo (Fontana)

Madlyn “Mady” (Fontana) DiLorenzo, 79, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, beloved wife of Thomas DiLorenzo, Sr., departed this life January 5, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer's Disease. Mady was born on March 12, 1931, in Hartford to her late parents Luca and Catherine (Albarelli) Fontana. She graduated from Weaver School in 1949 and worked for the Aetna Insurance Company before marriage and the start of her family. Mady was a faithful communicant of the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. She was active in real estate and volunteered for many years as a polling supervisor in Wethersfield. She had a gifted talent with the piano and provided enjoyment to all around her. She is survived by Tom, her loving husband of fifty-nine years and devoted caregiver; her son, Thomas DiLorenzo, Jr., of Singer Island, FL; her grandson, Matthew DiLorenzo, and daughter-in-law Donna DiLorenzo, of Rocky Hill; her sister, Jane and her husband George Finch of Cumming, GA; four brothers-in-law; Anthony DiLorenzo and his wife, Collette, of Wethersfield, Theodore DiLorenzo and his wife, Lorraine, of East Hartford, Richard DiLorenzo and his wife, Sheila, of Malvern, PA and Ronald Angelo, Sr., of Rocky Hill; three sisters-in-law; Florence Nunez of Naples, FL, Mary DeVito and her husband, Carmine, of Old Saybrook and Virginia Fontana of Wethersfield and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony (Tony) DiLorenzo; a sister, Josephine (Joy) Angelo and brother, Joseph P. Fontana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (January 10) at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St. Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family requests all those attending to go directly to the church. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
