

Mafalda Maria (Santangelo) Santangelo, 96, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife for 55 years of the late Quintino Santangelo, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Born in Pratola Peligna, province of L’Aquila, Italy on October 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Gemma (Margiotta) Santangelo. She immigrated to United States in 1952, where she married the love of her life, Quintino. They moved to Connecticut and settled in Hartford to raise their family. Mafalda was a member of the St. Anthony Club, Pratolana Society, and the Rocky Hill Senior Center.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mafalda will be forever missed by her four sons, Felice “Phil” and wife Bernadette of Rocky Hill, Salvatore and wife Josephine of Middletown, Romeo “Rome” and wife Mary Anna, of Columbia and Mario and wife Tina, of Berlin; her adored grandchildren, Michael (Heather), Patricia (Arielle), David (Juliette), Dyan (David), Kari (Jason), Matthew (Claudia), Brian (Victoria), Anthony (Zoe), Nicholas, and Jenna; her cherished great-grandchildren, Tate, Jordan, Maya, Jaxson, Owen, Evan, Ethan, Tessa, Ava, Catalina, Gisele, Amelia, Leonardo. Two more cherished great grandchildren expected this summer. She is also survived by a cousin Maria and several extended family members as well as her close and dear friend, Olimpia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 3, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 461 Alling Street, Berlin. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 3 from 8:30 -10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
