Maria Tenore

Maria Tenore, 94, wife of the late Antonio Tenore, of Hartford Connecticut passed away on March 16th with her family by her side. Maria was born in Bisaccia Italy to the late Antonio and Filomena (Russo) Casarella. Maria was predeceased by her three sisters, Serafina Giannetta, Gina Conforte, Linda Casarella.

She was a longtime resident of Hartford Connecticut. She married Antonio and they made their home in Hartford and Wethersfield. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished her time spent with her family. A kind and giving woman, she had a loving and gentle nature and was always ready and willing to help others. Along with her wonderful husband Antonio, they enjoyed planting a garden and making wine. Having her family over every Sunday and cooking for all was her greatest joy. Maria loved singing and dancing to her favorite Italian songs.

Maria is survived by her four children, three sons and a daughter: Michael Tenore of Tolland, CT, Joseph and Maureen Tenore of Berlin, CT, David and Anna (Tenore) Lis of Wethersfield, CT, and Anthony and Jennifer Tenore of Wethersfield, CT.

Maria is blessed with a wonderful family including 8 grandchildren - Nicholas and wife Justine, Allie and husband Tyler, Brianna, Wren, Kate, Matthew, Michael and Kayla; 5 precious great grandchildren - Lucas, Addison, Adrian, Leila and Odin; and special nieces and nephew, Ruben Giannetta, Elizabeth Giannetta Ramos and Sarah Giannetta and extended family in Italy.

Maria’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Mapleview Manor, Rocky Hill, CT for their wonderful care and kindness. Family and friends are invited for calling hours on Monday March 20th from 9:30 to 11 am. Celebration of her life at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield, CT. Burial services will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT.
