

Marian (Rinaldo) Diana, 99, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 72 years of the late Anthony Diana, Sr., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 6, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 13, 1923 in Hartford to the late Louis and Mary (DeLuco) Rinaldo. Marian worked many years at Aetna Insurance while living in Bloomfield. Later, she and Tony moved to Wethersfield, where she was a parishioner at the Church of the Incarnation. Marian was a member and officer of both the Luna Club and the Wethersfield Senior Club. Above all, Marian adored her family.
She will be forever missed by her daughter, Emily and husband Fernando “Frank” Monaco of Wethersfield, with whom she made her home; her son, Anthony Jr. and wife Ina (Bobrow) Diana of Mebane, NC, and her daughter-in-law, Cathy (Kluntz) Diana of Rocky Hill. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren: Vincent Michael and Elizabeth (Skora) Diana, Nicholas Diana and Sara Dyer, Tina (Monaco) St. Pierre, Donato and Juliet (Ricciuti) Monaco, Justin and Melissa (Roberson) Diana, Katie (Diana) and Pernell Wise, Andrew Diana, Emily (Diana) and Ken Portu. She also treasured her seventeen great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Sebastian, Sunny, Gabriella, William, Emilia, Gianna, Aiden, Bella, Diamond, Dominic, Valentina, Carmelo, Shaylin, Vincent, Lorenzo, Gianni. Marian was predeceased by her loving husband, Anthony Sr.; her oldest son, Vincent L. Diana; her brother, Louis Rinaldo, II and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Anna Mary (Diana) Fortunato.
Marian’s family would like to express their heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Jadwiga Smolen and Selta Francis for their constant, compassionate, gentle and affectionate care for her. We would also like to thank Lynne Whitney, APRN, and her staff, as well as the Hartford Healthcare At Home and Hospice teams, for all their understanding and professionalism.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish (Church of the Incarnation), 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
