Mariano "Mario" Amodeo

Mariano “Mario” Amodeo, 80 of Hartford, beloved husband of Salvatrice (Basile) Amodeo, passed away March 5, 2021 at Hartford Hospital from complications of Covid. Born September 5, 1940 in Siracusa, Italy he was the son of the late Angelo and Raffaela (Arigno) Amodeo. While in Italy, Mario made his living as a farmer. In 1974, he moved his family to America for a better life and resided in Hartford for the rest of his life. One of his main passions in life was gardening. In every inch of his yard he grew vegetables, herbs, fruit, and flowers. His garden is where he loved to be.

In addition to his devoted wife of 56 years, Mario leaves his two sons and their families; Angelo Amodeo, his wife April and two sons, Angelo and Roman; Sebastian Amodeo, his wife Karen and their children, Sebastian, Lance and Olivia. He also leaves behind his brothers Salvatore Amodeo and Sebastiano Amodeo of Italy; Tony Amodeo, his wife Maria of South Carolina and his sister Maria of Siracusa, Italy. In addition to his parents, Mario was predeceased by his brother Frank Amodeo of Siracusa, Italy. Mario will definitely be missed.
