Marie (morin) Smith

Marie (Morin) Smith, 70, of Hartford beloved wife of Eugene Smith, Sr. died Sunday (February 17, 2008), at Hartford Hospital and now is reunited with her late sons Donald and Tommy. Born in Hartford she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dombrowski) and was a lifelong resident of Hartford. She was a devoted wife and mother and worked for many years at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Hartford. She taught CCD classes and was a lector at both St. Lawrence O'Toole and Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was very active in church activities, running the food bank, the holiday bazaar and helping with bingo and pasta dinners. Besides her husband she is survived by her children; Patty Johnson and her husband Ken of Wethersfield, Eugene Smith of Windsor Locks, Mary Ethier and her husband Greg of Columbia, Billy Smith and his wife Sara of West Hartford, Linda Smith of West Hartford, John Smith and his wife Lynne of Tolland and James Smith of Newington, two brothers, Richard 'Sonny'Morin and his wife Earline of Georgia and Thomas Morin and his wife Lauretta of Bristol, thirteen grandchildren; Michelle, Kenny, Kelly, Gene, Joshua, Joel, Nathan, Shane, Jordan, Shauna, Brenna, Alex and Evan, four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Jayden, Landon, and Adriana. The funeral is Thursday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
