Marilyn Bonney (Ellis)

Marilyn (Ellis) Bonney, 81, of Rocky Hill and formerly of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Donald Robert Bonney, passed away peacefully on Saturday (July 27, 2013). Born on February 6, 1932 in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Herschel Simeon and Lucy (Kidder) Ellis. Marilyn devoted her life to being a caring daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated from Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in 1953, and throughout her life she used her skills to help take care of many family members. She is survived by her sons, David Bonney and his wife Beth of Rocky Hill and Stephen Bonney and his wife Tammy of Morehead, KY. Left to cherish their memories of “Grammie” are her three grandchildren, Megan, Kevin and Kathryn Bonney, whom she loved dearly. Marilyn is also survived by her brother, Herschel Ellis, Jr. and his family. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A private funeral service and burial will be held in Maine. Donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, and directed to the Frontier Research Fund (a/c # 3890280).
