
Mario J. Piazza, 84, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Mary Margaret (Starr) Piazza, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011. He was born July 20, 1926 in the Bronx, NY, son of the late Jerome Mario and Rosalie (Lombardo) Piazza. Mario was a 1944 graduate of Stuyvesant High School in New York and attended Brooklyn College before serving in the U. S. Army as a translator in Germany and France, at the end of WWII. After the war he received his BS degree from the University of Hartford and his Masters degree from Central Connecticut State University. He was employed as a teacher in South Windsor and New Britain before retiring in 1991. He was also the owner and operator of the Alingo Translation Agency for over 40 years. Including Mary, his wife of 42 years, Mario is survived by his son Jerome Mario Piazza and his wife, Katharine, two beloved grandsons Jonathan and Christopher Piazza all of Westchester, NY. He was predeceased by his brother Salvatore Piazza. Funeral services and burial in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield will be private. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
