Marion DellaFera (Fantone)

Marion (Fantone) DellaFera, 79, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of Michael A. DellaFera, passed away on Monday, (March 21, 2011) in Jupiter, FL. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Charles and Helena (Abbott) Fantone of Hartford. She lived in Wethersfield for over 50 years and recently moved to Rocky Hill in 2010. She spent winters in Juno Beach, FL. Marion enjoyed caring for her large family and taking long walks on Juno beach. Her grandchildren will miss her Sunday meatballs. Besides her devoted husband of over 53 years, she is survived by eight children; Michael DellaFera of Ashford, Thomas DellaFera and his wife Carole of Manassas, VA, Linda Poniatoski and her husband RJ of Torrington, Susan Morin and her husband George of Pawcatuck, Marjorie Wieczorek and her husband John of Bolton, Mark DellaFera of Rocky Hill, Albert DellaFera and his wife Carolynn of Wethersfield, Josephine Donofrio and her husband Daniel of Glastonbury; two brothers, James Fantone of Wethersfield and Robert Fantone of Harford; two sisters, Dorothy Clark of Simsbury and her twin sister Marjorie Fantone of Hartford. Marion also is survived by 19 cherished grandchildren; Laura and Karen DellaFera of Ashford, Thomas, Timothy and Andrew DellaFera of Manassas, VA, Lauren and Kevin Poniatoski of Torrington, Jacob and Kaitlyn Morin of Pawcatuck, Ryan and Jillian Wieczorek of Bolton, Zachary, Joshua, Austin, Tyler, Jeremy and Shane DellaFera of Wethersfield and Megan and Emily Donofrio of Glastonbury. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Joseph Fantone. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m. at D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Friday, March 25 from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel in Wethersfield.
