

Mark P. Vetrano, of Portland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the age of 60. Mark was the beloved husband of Terrie (Certo) Vetrano and the son of the late Emil and Phyllis (Ronan) Vetrano.
He was a retiree of General Electric, where he worked as an engineer for many years and pioneered remote-work engineering for the company in 2001. In his earlier years, Mark was known for his love of golf, being a diver on the high school swim team, and his devotion to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Terrie, their son Christopher and his husband Dan Murphy of Nova Scotia, Canada, youngest son Nicholas of Portland, loving mother-in-law Mary Certo of Portland, brother-in-law Paul Certo and his wife Rose of Kentucky, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, CT. The family invites you to join them on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel for a Celebration of Life service for Mark that will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Swedish Cemetery in Portland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to St. Jude's Children's Research hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
