
Mary Katharine (Rogers) Moses Mary K. Moses, a resident in the Caleb Hitchcock Health Center at Duncaster in Bloomfield, died on November 28, 2013 in her 100th year. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late James Franklin and Katharine (Cochran) Rogers. She had lived in the Hartford area since 1945, following her marriage to A. Henry Moses who died in 1978. She was a graduate of The Ellis School and Pennsylvania College for Women (now Chatham University) in Pittsburgh. Her first marriage to Charles J. Crocket ended with his death in 1943. During her years in Hartford she volunteered at The Children's Museum, The Women's Exchange, The Athenaeum and The Episcopal Church Homes of Hartford through its transition to Seabury. For many years she was an active participant in Meals on Wheels program through St. John's Church in West Hartford. She was an avid bridge player and played tennis enthusiastically well-into her 80's. At the time of her death she was a member of The Hartford Golf Club and The North Hatley Club in North Hatley, Quebec where she summered for more than 60 years. She is survived by her son, John W. Moses of North Hatley, Quebec, and his wife, Louise, and by her daughter, Anne R. Ravish of Fort Myers, Florida, and her husband, Ed, and her grandchildren, Katharine P. Moses, Margot W. Moses, Shawn J. Ravish, Rebecca R. Thomas, Matthew H. Ravish, Sarah R. Peal and Josiah E. Ravish as well as 10 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 9th at the Caleb Hitchcock Health Center, 10 Loeffler Road, Bloomfield, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a contribution to St. John's Church, 679 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119 or The Duncaster Foundation, 40 Loeffler Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002. The James T. Pratt Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
