Mary J. (Pellettieri) Waites

Mary J. (Pellettieri) Waites, 95, beloved wife for 42 years of the late James C. Waites, and the late Louis A. Pellettieri, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2011 with her three daughters at her bedside. Born in Hartford in 1916, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Lapolla) Gesualdi. Mary attended Wethersfield High School and was a lifelong resident of Wethersfield. She was employed by Hart Seed Company and Arrow, Hart and Hegeman. Mary was a longtime faithful communicant of the Church of the Incarnation and a member of the Incarnation Women’s Club. Mary is survived by her daughters: Carol (Pellettieri) Dimmock of Willimantic, Beverly (Pellettieri) Klemyk and husband Robert of Newington, and Lorraine (Pellettieri) Rossitto and husband Caesar of Wethersfield; two stepsons, Thomas Waites and wife Josette of McLean, VA, and James Waites and wife Christine of Manchester; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and a dear sister-in-law Joyce Gesualdi of Wethersfield. Mary was predeceased by daughter Janice (Pellettieri) Vendetta, baby daughter Joyce Ann Pellettieri, two brothers Nicholas and Frank Gesualdi, and four sisters: Catherine Petronella, Carmela Colannino, Yolanda Forte and Ann Dudek. Mary’s family extends special thanks to her caregiver, Merlene Bookal, who was a dear friend to the end. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-3 pm at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Prayer Service at 3:00 pm. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
