
Melpo (Sterianou) Yatrousis, 81, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 54 years of Steven Yatrousis, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, (April 23, 2012). Born on July 26, 1930 in Plomari, Mytiline Greece, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Mersini (Chrisouli) Sterianos. She was a faithful communicant of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford and was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the St. George Seniors. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family. Besides her husband Steven, Melpo is survived by her devoted sons, Gregory Yatrousis and his wife Maureen of Wethersfield, and Dean Yatrousis of Manchester; and her three adored grandchildren, Mary, Nicole and Steven Yatrousis. The family would like to thank Dr. Ann Pinou and the staff of Masonicare Home Health & Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
Funeral service will be held on Friday (April 27) at 11 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Hartford. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. with a Trisagion service at 6 p.m at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
