Michael Joseph Daly

On December 18, 2016, while watching his beloved New England Patriots, Michael Joseph Daly journeyed to a better place to join the love of his life, Judy. He lived a life dedicated to the love and support of his family, community, state, and country. His bright smile, sincere heart, and contagious laugh welcomed everyone in, making the world a better place one smile at a time. He leaves on Earth his loving and devoted family: his daughter Jennifer Daly Meltzer; son Michael Joseph Daly, Jr.; three grandsons, Michael Gray Daly (21), Tyler Joseph Daly (18) and Jaiden Luke Meltzer (10); son-in-law Joshua K. Meltzer; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Hampton Daly; brothers, Jim and Charlie Daly, along with countless treasured family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Judith Micali Daly, who passed almost five years ago to the day; his mother, Josephine Daly; his father, Robert Daly, and his brother, Bob Daly. Born January 2, 1942 in Hartford, he was a graduate of Suffield Academy, Trinity College and University of Michigan. He was an Air Force Vietnam veteran, flying B52’s out of Westover Air Force base in the late 60’s. Mike then devoted himself to Healthcare administration, at Hartford Hospital and Baystate Health, where he served as President and CEO for 22 years. Mike was known to all as a joyful, kind, humble and compassionate man who lived a life of service in its truest form. He now returns home to his chosen place of rest.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday (December 28) at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
