
Michael R. Diakon, 80 of Avon, loving husband to the late Kathleen (Nobert) Diakon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25 at his home. Michael was born February 12, 1944 and raised in Hartford, one of three sons to the late Michael and Eileen (Wright) Diakon. He attended and graduated from the Hartford public school system and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UCONN. He served our country during Vietnam with the United States Air Force.
Michael was a manager for 20+ years at Turbine Technologies in Farmington. He enjoyed his free time as an avid fly fisherman and artist, with a passion for vintage motorcycles. What meant most to him was time spent with his family, especially his two young granddaughters Alice and Tabitha.
Michael will be forever missed and fondly remembered by his loving family; his daughter and son-in-law, Jocelyn Diakon Rupprecht and Daniel Rupprecht, with their two daughters, Alice Kathleen and Tabitha Michelle Rupprecht, all in Guildford Surrey, UK; a brother Timothy Diakon of Rocky Hill; and his extended family. In addition to his parents, Michael was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert Richard Diakon.
A Committal service will be held Friday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m., directly in St. Ann Cemetery, 289 Arch Road, Avon. Michael’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield. To extend online condolences, please visit www.desopofuneralchapel.com.
