Michael McLain, 45, of East Hartford, died July 13, 2009, after a long struggle with diabetes. He was the son of the late Janice (Baker) McLain and Weston McLain. Michael was a free spirit, who had a genuine love for animals, most recently his cat named Lucky. Mike enjoyed Nascar racing, spending time with family and friends, and tinkering with his cars. He also had an uncanny ability to fix anything electronic and always gave selflessly to help others. Any space that Michael occupied was meticulously maintained to perfection. Michael leaves behind a son, Jay; a brother, Jeff McLain, who he thought the world of; a sister, Sandra Dugas and many close relatives who will miss him dearly. Michael was predeceased by his brother Jerry McLain. He cherished his many long time friends, especially Chris Connors and Tom Prince. A special thanks to his guardian angel Amber, for all her help, guidance, and extra efforts to improve his quality of life. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel in East Hartford has been entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial gathering for Michael will be held at a later date. Donations in Michael's memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association .
