

Michael Francis Nanni, 51, of Wethersfield, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at his home. Born in Hartford, he was the beloved son of Nelio and O. Frances (Poggie) Nanni of Wethersfield. Mike was a graduate of Bulkeley High School and was employed by the City of Hartford Board of Education at the R. J. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts. Involved in music at an early age, he played lead guitar and was vocalist with the band that he helped start, known as 'Bates Motel'. He loved to be on stage and performing for the entertainment of others. He was a former member of the St. Augustine's School Boys Brigade and played on the St. Augustine's School basketball team. Besides his parents he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Gianel Nanni-Ramos and her husband, Raymond Ramos, of Rocky Hill; a brother and sister-in-law, Louis J. and Lynn Nanni of New Hartford; and his aunt, Harriette Nanni of Wethersfield. He was predeceased by his uncle James Nanni. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 27, at 10 a.m., in St. Augustine's Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. The burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
