Michele Mike Borea

Michele “Mike” Borea, 83, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 61 years of Concetta (Marena) Borea passed away at home peacefully after a courageous two year battle with cancer, on June 18, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Mike was born on July 22, 1932 in San Mango Sul Calore, Province of Avellino, Italy and was the son of the late Marino and Rosa (Ottaviano) Borea. Mike worked for over 30 years with the State of Connecticut, Comptroller and Legislative Management, retiring as a Supervisor. He truly enjoyed working at the State Capitol and was proud of his service with the State Legislature. Mike was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved playing Italian cards with his grandsons, traveling with his wife and family and especially having everyone over for lunch after church every Sunday. Mike and Concetta grew up together in Italy and were childhood sweethearts who married and loved each other their entire lives. In addition to his wife Concetta, Mike leaves behind his sons Morris Borea and his wife Debra and Claudio Borea and his wife Deborah all of Wethersfield. He also leaves his five grandchildren; Michael, Daniel, Christopher, John and Robert. Funeral service will leave Thursday, June 23rd at 9:15 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield.
