Ninna Fazzina

Ninna (Forte) Fazzina, 86, beloved wife for 57 years of Carmelo Fazzina, earned her angel wings on January 9, 2024. Her final days were spent with her family by her side. Ninna was born in Floridia, Sicily, Italy to the late Giovanni and Sebastiana (Latina) Forte; she moved to Hartford in the 1950s and lived in the area for the rest of her days. Ninna was a devoted wife and mother who cherished time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to raising their children, she had a passion for cooking, baking bread, and sewing. She loved taking long cruises and afternoon visits to the casino.

Along with her husband, Carmelo, she is survived, and will be dearly missed by her sons, Robert and his wife Caroline of Wethersfield, David and his wife, Mona of Lynchburg, VA and Carl and his wife, Christina of Wethersfield; her adored grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, Michael and Theresa Fazzina; her brother, Anthony Forte and sister, Lucia Amato, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Sebastian Forte and sisters, Josephine Papa and Concetta Arcaria. Ninna’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Avery Heights for their wonderful care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Friday, January 12 from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 13 at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment services will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
