Nino Leone

Nino Leone, a devoted family man, skilled mason, and tireless provider, passed away peacefully at his home in Wethersfield, Connecticut, on October 15, 2025. His life was a testament to hard work, humility, love, and quiet dedication to his family’s well-being. Born in Italy, Nino served as a paratrooper in the Italian Army before immigrating to the United States. He built a lifelong career as a carpenter and then mason with Lupachino and Salvatore General Contracting Inc., pouring his relentless work ethic into every project to secure a better life for his family. A private man by nature, Nino’s heart was always with his loved ones. He was constantly thinking of ways to support his children and grandchildren, often arriving at their homes with a keen eye for what needed fixing—whether a creaky door or a potential problem he’d anticipate and address before it arose. With his MacGyver-like ingenuity, he ensured their comfort and security, always one step ahead. Nino leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Michelina, his partner and best friend with whom he shared a passion for real estate projects. He is also survived by his adoring daughters, Erika McKee (and spouse Frank), and Monica Leone; his five grandchildren, Michaela Greenberg (and spouse Becca), Nicholas Stokke (and fianceé Stacey Venditto), Juliana McKee, Francis McKee and Isabella McKee; and his great-grandchildren, Asher and Vera. Nino cherished moments spent with family, playing with his grandchildren, offering them pearls of wisdom, and enjoying lively card games with his paesani at the Pratolana M.B. Society club or cheering for Inter-Milan soccer. He also loved opera and taking long walks, especially on the beach. Though he was a private man, Nino’s thoughtfulness shone through in his constant care for others, always seeking ways to lend a hand or share advice when he could. His legacy of love, wisdom, and hard work lives on in his family, who will deeply miss him. The family is grateful for the tender care provided by Dr. Robert Dicks, his loving home caregivers and Enhabit Home Hospice team who provided support to Nino and his entire family. A Chapel Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22 at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Mausoleum 3), Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
