

Olin W. Russell, 82, of Hartford, devoted husband of Viola (Pierson) Russell, died Sunday, (March 1, 2009) in Hartford. Born in Wilder, VT, son of the late Olin and Mary (Rosebrook) Russell, Olin had lived in Hartford for more than 50 years. He was employed as a carpenter with the Carpenters Local #43 Union in Hartford for more than 30 years. Olin was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. Mr. Russell was a member of the American Legion Post #8 in Harford and the Italian American Club of Hartford. Besides his loving wife of 57 years, Olin is survived by seven cherished children: a son Thomas B. Russell and his wife Karen of Bedford, NH; six daughters, Sharon L. Cravo and her husband Artur of Hartford, Linda L. LeBlanc and her husband Raymond of Enfield, Darlene A. Cummings and her husband Robert of Coventry, Cindy S. Henley and her husband Mark of Stafford Springs, Lori L. Thomas and her husband John of West Hartford and Tammy M. Russell of West Hartford; a sister, Martha Paty of Colchester; 13 grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Lisa, Sean, Christina, Angela, Stephanie, Michelle, Michael, Tyrone, Joshua, Brian, and Leah; and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 5, at 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral chapel. Burial will be private.
