
Peter (Bacus) Nichols, 59, of Wethersfield passed away on November 24 after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Peter was born on April 22, 1950, the son of Peter and Bessie Nichols. He lived in Wethersfield and was a longtime summer resident of Old Lyme. He graduated from Wethersfield High School, attended Johnson and Wales University, and worked at several retail stores in surrounding towns. Peter, also known as Wally Binoa, will best be remembered for his incredibly kind and loving heart, as well as his love of music and his offbeat sense of humor. A selfless, gentle soul, Peter took great joy in making others smile despite his illness. Prior to his illness, he played golf regularly at Goodwin Park with his brothers and his beloved ""Papou."" He also enjoyed playing tennis but regularly let his sister win. He is survived by his mother, Bessie Nichols; three brothers, George Nichols and his wife, Wendy, of Boca Raton, Florida, Spere Nichols of Miami, Florida, William Nichols and his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Dee), of Wethersfield; and a sister, Ann Gail Nichols and her husband, Lawrence Fox, of West Hartford. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as two devoted friends who have been with him since high school, Frank (Buster) Arnone from Bolton and Carl Cooper from Berlin. Burial services will be private. Peter's family will receive friends Saturday, November 28th, from 2-4 p.m. at the home of Peter's brother, Bill Nichols, 704 Ridge Road, Wethersfield.
