

Peter J. Silvestri, 91 of Old Lyme and Wethersfield, beloved husband for 60 years of the late Catherine (Galotti) Silvestri, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 5, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. He was born August 25, 1924 in Hartford and was the son of the late Ralph and Rose (Fanneli) Silvestri. He was a veteran and served proudly during WW II in the Pacific as a US Navy Seabee. He is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Darlene and George Moquin, Patricia and Ottavio Capasso and Pamela and Michael Drapeau, five grandchildren and their spouses, Gina and Rino Zaino, Thomas Capasso, Lucyann Capasso, Joseph and Anastasia Capasso, Laurie and Kevin Kobelski and Amy and Lee Hilburn, seven great grandchildren, Ben and Michael Zaino, Sabrina and Nico Capasso, Joseph Capasso and Julia and Ava Kobelski and his sister Mary Sipala. He also leaves behind two dear friends, Rita Hanson and Betty Capone and a special niece, Betty Ann (Cook) Luther. He was predeceased by a sister, Madeline Fasola and two brothers, John and Louis Silvestri. Calling hours are Wednesday at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield from 8:30 to 10:00 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. The burial with military honors will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers donations in Peter's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice .
