Pietro Fazio

Pietro Fazio, 83, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 54 years of Angela Maria (Brini) Fazio, died Sunday (May 12, 2013) surrounded by his loving family at Hartford Hospital. Born in Ievoli, province of Catanzaro, Italy, he was the son of the late Valentino and Rosina (Mancuso) Fazio and lived in West Hartford for many years before moving to Wethersfield. Pietro retired from Heublein, Inc. after 35 years of service. He was a long time member of the Mt. Carmel-Santa Cristina Society. He was an avid gardener and loved to entertain, making many homemade Italian specialties which he loved to share with family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Peter Fazio of Naples, FL; his daughter and son-in-law, Rosina and Steven Marquis of Kensington; his beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Marisa Marquis; his sisters, Angela Cardemone of France and Frances Rotundo of Wethersfield, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by an infant son, Valentino Fazio.

The funeral is Thursday at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
