

Richard J. Traunig, 61, of Wethersfield, loving husband for 39 years of Sandra (Chandler) Traunig, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, (October 31, 2006) at home surrounded by his loving family. Rich was born December 7, 1944 in Hartford and was the son of the late Herman J. and Constance (Magnuson) Traunig. He lived in Wethersfield all his life. He was employed by the former Advertising Production Services for many years. He retired and started a home refinishing business, along the way making many dear, close and long lasting friendships. Richie was an avid Washington Redskins Football fan. His favorite pastime was spending time at the beach and tending to his garden. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Besides his wife, Sandy, he is survived by two sons, Christopher J. Traunig of Wethersfield and Kevin J. Traunig of Canton, Georgia; a sister, Lynn Comeau and her husband, James of Wethersfield; loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Scott and Janet Chandler, Jeffrey and Patrice Chandler, Mark Chandler and Reed and Lori Chandler all of Wethersfield and Kevin and Holly Chandler of South Windsor; and many nieces, nephews; and dear and close friends. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 300 Main Street, Wethersfield with The Reverend Scott Lee officiating.
