Robert Dennin Delaney

Robert Dennin Delaney, 74, of Wethersfield, husband of Louise (Pontecorvo) Delaney died (Thursday, February 5, 2009) in Hartford. Born in Albany, NY, son of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Briggs) Delaney, Bob has lived in Wethersfield for the past 36 years. Bob worked in the retail environment for many years prior to joining the Wethersfield Housing Authority where he was employed for 11 years prior to his retirement in 1999. He also proudly served with the Connecticut National Guard. Besides his beloved wife of 39 years, Bob is survived by a devoted son, Kevin A. Delaney and his wife Heather of Winston ? Salem, NC; a brother, Richard Delaney and his wife Patricia of Farmington; the proud grandfather of two cherished grandchildren, Michael and Dennin; a sister-in-law, Esther DeLucia and her husband Robert of Glastonbury; a brother-in-law, Anthony 'Teck' Pontecorvo of Branford and several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by a son, Robert D. Delaney Jr. Funeral service will be Monday February 9 at 1 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
