

Robert Allan Robbins, 77, of Wethersfield, died Sunday (April 27, 2014) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Meriden on December 17, 1936, he was the son of Richard and Lottie Robbins and lived in Meriden and Wallingford prior to moving to Wethersfield. He worked as a Longshoreman and also owned and operated a seafood store. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Air Force. Robert was a devoted member of First Church in Wethersfield and also was a musician. He is survived by two daughters; Tara Robbins-Aksoy and Dawn M. Rivellini, both of Bethany; a brother, Gerald Robbins of Washington, D.C. and four cherished grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday (May 10) at 2:30 p.m. at First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield, with the Rev. T. Michael McDowell officiating. Burial with military honors will be private. There are no calling hours. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel of Wethersfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
