

Salvatore “Sal” Julian, 84, of Wethersfield, loving and devoted husband of Palmina “Peggy” (Caramma) Julian for 59 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital with his family by his side. He was born December 7, 1931 in Torrington, and was the son of the late Mary Audia and John Julian. Sal was a veteran of the Korean War, serving proudly as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Bryant College as a finance major and was a key financial officer for many companies. In August, 2015, he retired from Environmental Services in South Windsor. Sal loved golf and was a charter member of the Wethersfield Chapter of UNICO National. His favorite pleasure and pride was his family. He created vacations and events for his wife, children and grandchildren that will always be cherished. He loved to dance with his beautiful wife Peggy, who was always first in his life. Sal was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, friend, confident and advisor. His family adored him. He is sadly predeceased by his daughter, Tracy L. Tabshey. Besides the love of his life, Peggy, Sal is survived by his two daughters, Angela Julian and her husband Karl Urban of Windsor and Diane Julian-Dudas and her husband Ken Dudas of South Windsor and his son-in-law, Bobby Tabshey of South Windsor. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Lyndsey, Lauren, Taylor, Lucas and Liza. Sal has a surviving sister, Yolanda Beecher of Torrington and is predeceased by two brothers, Tony and John Julian and one sister, Francis Molon.
He also leaves his sister-in-law, Millie Santucci and brother-in-law, Tony Santucci, nieces Tami, Linda, and Hailey, nephews Joe and Dylan, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin Wednesday (January 27) at 10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will military honors will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
