

Salvatore Valvo, 89, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 62 years of the late Concetta “Tina” Valvo, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, May 11, 2015. Born in Canicattini Bagni, province of Siracusa, Sicily on September 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Giovanna (Gionfriddo) Valvo. Salvatore was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. A loving and devoted father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his three beloved children, Joseph Valvo and wife Ellenmary of Wethersfield, Tina Rooney and husband Thomas of Newington and Joanne Morris and husband Troy of Wethersfield and his five cherished and adored grandchildren, Anna, Laura and Michael Valvo and Alex and Logan Morris. He also leaves many extended family members, both here and in Italy. Special thanks to his caregivers, Gina, Kayla and JoAnn, as well as the hospice care team at Hartford Hospital.
Funeral services will begin on Friday (May 15) at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
