Santa Lucia ""Sara"" (Sinisgalli) Todaro

Santa Lucia “Sara” (Sinisgalli) Todaro, 83, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 60 years of the late Joseph Todaro, Jr., passed away peacefully in the home built by her husband, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 12, 2016. Born in New London on October 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Rosaria (Geraci) Sinisgalli. Sara was the matriarch of her family and she was the happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was a master in the kitchen and her delicious cooking will be missed by all. For 22 years she enjoyed serving the town of Wethersfield as a crossing guard. Sara will be dearly missed by her three children, Palma Cannata of Portland, Rocco Todaro and wife Kerri of Old Lyme, and Joseph J. Todaro, III and wife Denise of Rocky Hill; her eight adored grandchildren, Joseph Cannata, Paul Todaro and wife Jennifer, Amy Ruzzo and husband Max, Michele Mahoney and husband Patrick, Mark Todaro, Robert Todaro and wife Brityn, Jack Todaro and wife Shannon, and Christa Todaro, and seven cherished great-grandchildren, Sophia and Nicholas Todaro, Joseph and Dominic Ruzzo, Luci Mahoney, Robert Todaro, Jr. and Eleanor Todaro. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Joseph Cannata, her brother, Nicola Sinisgalli; two sisters, Rose Cardillo and Philomena Forestiere. The family wishes to thank Sara’s live-in caregiver, Teresa Klim for the love and compassion shown to Sara and her whole family.

Funeral services will be Thursday (December 15) at 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
