

Santo John Franzo, 81, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband for 58 years of Concetta (Sinopoli) Franzo, passed away peacefully on Monday (September 15, 2014). Born in Siracusa, Sicily on June 6, 1933, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Gina (Capodicasa) Franzo. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Santo was a tool designer, retiring in 1997 from Jacobs Vehicle Systems in Bloomfield after 22 dedicated years of service. He was a past member of the Holy Spirit Men’s Club. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Concetta; five children, Gina Malinowski, Bruce C. Franzo, Marc A. Franzo, Steven S. Franzo and companion Elisa and Gary J. Franzo and wife Lynn, and his adored granddaughter, Amanda Malinowski. Santo is also survived by his brother-in-law, Vincent Sinopoli and wife Josephine and his sister-in-law, Antoinette Sinopoli. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Brett Malinowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
