Shirley (leclair) Luchini

Shirley (LeClair) Luchini, of Wethersfield, loving wife of Peter J. Luchini, Jr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday (February 11, 2009) at home with her family by her side after a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born on February 4, 1935 in Waltham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Anna (Gleason) LeClair. She was a graduate of Regis College in Weston, MA and worked as an educator in the Wethersfield School system for many years. Shirley was a faithful communicant of the Church of the Incarnation, serving as President of the Women's Club and singing in the choir. She was also a member of the Catholic Graduates Club of Greater Hartford. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family. Besides her beloved husband Peter, Shirley is survived by her children: sons Mark and his wife Gail of Boxford, MA, Edward and his wife Amanda of New Sharon, ME and David of Hartford; her daughter, Sheryl Brothers of Wethersfield; her brother L. Richard LeClair and his wife Donna of Mattapoisett, MA and her six cherished grandchildren, Laura, Michael, Alexander, Juliette and Benjamin Luchini and Matthew Brothers. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her daughter, Laura M. Luchini. The funeral is Monday, February 16 at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
