

Sylvia D. (Wiles) Constantine, 74, of East Hartford, loving wife of Russell L. Constantine for 55 years, passed away peacefully on Monday (January 28, 2008), at Hartford Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Norman and Dagmar (Hyer) Wiles. Sylvia resided in East Hartford for over 45 years. She was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1951. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford for 19 years. Sylvia was a long-time member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hartford. She was a member of the Travelers Women's Club, an avid reader and animal lover. She had a terrific sense of humor and will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Leigh Constantine of East Hampton, Kim Constantine and her husband, Jeff Burstein of New Jersey and Amy Constantine and her husband, Brian Lysik of Manchester, grandchildren, Erin and Shauna Clen and William and Julia Burstein, a sister, Phyllis Wiles of Georgia, brother-in-law, Matt Constantine of East Hartford, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Diane Mancuso and Janet and Sal Amaral all of Enfield, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Chapel, 311 Capitol Avenue, Hartford with Pastor John Corgan officiating. The burial will be at the convenience of the family.
